On February 18th, 2021 NASA’s Perseverance rover landed safely on Mars after a 300-million-mile journey!

“The multibillion-dollar, one-ton, nuclear-powered Perseverance is said to have sent a signal relayed to Earth via the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter to confirm a safe landing” (Alexandra Witze, Nature News).

The rover deployed a parachute and stuck the landing at 3:55pm US Eastern time, after a nearly seven-month journey from Earth!! How amazing!

The rover landing was said to be a nail biter, as the geographic area it landed in; Jezero, is a challenging spot filled with boulders, sand dunes and steep cliffs that the rover needed to avoid for a safe landing.

The last rover to reach Mats was NASA’s Curiosity, in 2012. This is big news for space lovers as this can open a new era of space exploration.

It doesn’t end there! In fourth quarter of 2021, Lunaprise, through its parent company Galactic Legacy Labs, will be sending an indestructible time capsule to the Moon with the data of 1 million “earth ambassadors” on the robotic Nova-C lander, built by Intuitive Machines. Join us!!
